Cold Process Soaps

Cold Process soaps are made by combining Sodium Hydroxide Solution (a.k.a. Lye) and vegetable fats to achieve saponification. This chemical process transforms the lye and fats into soap and glycerin. Neither lye nor fat remain, only pure, clean vegan soap enriched with naturally formed glycerin. The soap is then left to cure for several weeks to ensure mildness.

Many commercial 'soap' makers remove the glycerin from the bar and resell it to the cosmetics industry, producing a product that cleans well, but is harsh and drying to the skin. Glycerin stripped from 'soap' is then resold in lotions and creams which are required to re-moisturize the skin. Our Soaps are packed with Glycerin - none of the naturally formed Glycerin is removed, and in some recipies additional Glycerin is added. You can be assured of a moisture rich bar that won't leave your skin dry or itchy.

We produce a variety of cold process soaps, including Castille and goat's milk. The basic ingredients of our Cold Process Soaps are listed here. Additional Essential Oils, Herbs, and Superfatting Oils may also be used and are listed in the Online Soap Store in the individual soap descriptions.

Designer Soaps

These soaps begin with a certified vegan glycerin soap base. Why is this important? Because many 'designer' soaps are packed with harsh chemicals. Our designer bars are true vegan soaps packed with glycerin, a natural humectant. Our Designer soaps are produced using the technique referred to as Melt & Pour or Soap Casting .

Our designer soaps are lovely both to the eye and the skin. When you use our products, you can be assured you are treating your skin to pure vegan, glycerin-rich products that won't leave you feeling dry and scratchy.

All of the ingredients in our soap base are listed here. To the base, we add vegatible oils and butters, clays, pigment colorants, essential oils, and fragrance oils. The specific additives for each soap are listed in the Online Soap Store in the individual soap descriptions. Oils and butters used for 'superfatting' our soaps include Vitamin E, Shea Butter, Jojoba, Avocado, and Sweet Almond Oil. No Wheat products are used in our designer soaps.
