About Us

Jeannie's Soaps is a family owned and operated business specializing in vegan, herbal, and designer soaps and skin care products. Every product is made using our exclusive, time-tested recipes and the finest natural fixed and carrier oils, butters, sea salts, essential and fragrance oils available. Shea Butter, Avocado Oil, Vitamin E Oil, and Balsam of Peru are just a few of the fine ingredients you'll find in our products. We also carry a variety of gift baskets - perfect for holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, new babies, groomsmen or bridesmaids, or any occasion. We gladly provide shipping services & personalized gift cards to make your gift shopping a breeze.

Now for our story....

Fresh Cut Okra It all started with a pan of fried okra.

My journey into natural skin care began after a kitchen fire that resulted in 3rd degree burns. I began to learn of the healing properties of herbs and essential oils, both for the body and mind. I learned about the amazing effects of Lavender, Jojoba, Aloe, Coconut, and Vitamin E on the skin and the healing process. As my interest in herbs and oils grew, I began to search for a creative outlet. Soap was a natural.

So we started. On a family trip to George's Cabins on Blood Mountain my daughter, son, and I began to experiment. We took along a few supplies, molds, and colors, and let our imaginations do the rest.

We really haven't stopped making soap since that week in the mountains. Along the way, I've ventured into custom essential oil blends, bath bombs, and lotions, but always return to soap.

We converted our dining room into a full time soap shop, thanks to the efforts of my loving husband. After outgrowing the combo dining room/shop in 2003, we moved the soap shop into it's own newly constructed space and reclaimed our home for 'normal' use.

Recently, I became too ill to carry on the soap business. My loving family, particularly my Daughter Amanda, Mom, Dad, and Husband have all chipped in to keep things going. Although we had to cancel our Fall shows (the highlight of our year!), we still handle individual orders by putting the family to work. I hope to be restored to full health soon so that I can resume this business with full vigor.
